Since 1991, RWS Information Systems has worked with hundreds of retail clients to help them maximize their retail investment and manage their inventories more productively.
We have helped them implement their POSIM systems most effectively in their individual retail environments, taking into account each retailer's own special needs.
While we are happy to help with any part of the POSIM project, we believe that our help is most effectively used in the following key areas:
(A) Planning the project and the system configuration
(B) Recommending how to use POSIM's fields to yield the most productive reports
(C) Providing feedback on setting up the SKU's in POSIM (whether importing them into POSIM, or typing them in)
(D) Training key personnel on Inventory functions (PO's, Receiving, barcode set-up and printing, accounting interface); POS functions (ringing up a sale, taking a return, end-of-day procedures, tracking customer purchases); and Security functions (POSIM passwords, and salesperson ID tracking)
(E) Proactively making sure that all steps are being taken to ensure that the project will be completed by the "go live" date, and that each step is done properly
Having worked with many different retail owners and retail environments, we know that there is no single answer to "How much support time will I need?" Some of our customers have chosen to set up and implement everything by themselves, and don't use our services for training and support. Other customers chose to use our support for key functions, handling the remainder of the POSIM set-up project themselves. And we have had clients who wanted us to do everything for them in order to get their new system up and running as quickly as possible.
Our experience is that most people use approximately 10-15 hours of our training and support time to get up-and-running effectively on POSIM. Of course, this time is spent over a period of time, not in one sitting.
